Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. has been part of the Alberta motorsport scene since the early 1990's and has been title sponsor of the NPP Late Model Series since 2001. In 2006, Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. broke new ground by sponsoring a fledgling motorsports show produced through SHAW TV in Edmonton. In 2007, with the help of several co-sponsors, 10 two-hour shows were broadcast. NPP Speed featured flag to flag coverage of the NPP Late Model Series and the chase for the Season Championship. Not to exclude the smaller racing divisions at Edmonton's Castrol Raceway, NPP Speed also broadcast the season championship point chase of the '360' Sprint Car, Sportsman Sprint Car and Super Stock classes. To prove the show's versatility, NPP Speed also broadcast two drag race events featuring the Canadian Motorcycle Drag Race Association and the 'Alberta' based Pro-Nostalgia Funny Car Series. NPP Speed hopes to return to the television airwaves in the future. An on-line version of the NPP Speed show is currently being discussed.
